Ethar El-Katatney is an Egyptian journalist known for her investigative feature articles. She currently works full time as a staff writer at "

She is also known for participating in numerous international conferences that promote peace and an understanding of Islam and Islamic culture around the world.El-Katatney was part of the Habib Ali Al Jifri Litaarafuu dialogue in Abu Dhabi to bridge the cultural gap created by the
Jyllands-Posten cartoons, where she moderated a number of workshops and gave the closing speech on the Muslim side along withMoez Masoud , a young Islamic scholar. In 2006, she travelled to England with
Amr Khaled , the popular Egyptian televangelist, in a three week youth training program. She joined him in an Islamic talk show called "Human Insights" that aired Ramadan 2006 on El-Mehwar channel.Ethar also worked as a researcher with
Moez Masoud for his new program "The Right Way," which aired Ramadan '07.Along with a recent NYU alumni, she has written a non-fiction book on cross cultural perceptions and representations, date of publication still unset.
She is a graduate of the
American University in Cairo , with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Arab and Islamic Civilization. Currently, she is pursuing two masters degrees also at the AUC: an MBA and an MA in Journalism. As a student, she was editor-in-chief of "Dimensions", one of two main student-run newspapers on campus, and was selected as one of 6 students to blog on the AUC Website.
