Casas Grandes, Mexico .Prior to the Mexican Revolution he was a member of the

Salvador Mercado commanded Salazar to lead a force againstFrancisco Villa who had just takenCiudad Juarez . They began a battle on Nov 23rd. In this battle Salazar had superior artillery. On the morning of November 24th Salazar's army was overwhelmed by a coordinated attack between Villa's cavalry andRodolfo Fierro 's exploding of materials in the army's rear.
