Air Force Bal Bharati School was founded in 1955 as a primary school growing into a full fledged school offering education from K-12 by 1974.

Today AFBBS stands as a Premier educational institution in the country. The school is being run by the Indian Air force Educational and Cultural Society as a recognized, unaided private institution. With own district identity. For over fifty years, it has set and prescribed high standards of excellence and is committed to quality education. The School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi

The school has emerged leader in academic excellence and in 1997 also received excellence award as best school in India. The school graduates go on to attend top universities in US,UK,Australia and abroad. Near home in India the school alumni is known for topping various entrance examinations and fellowship programs.
