Nusret

"Nusret" also known as "Nusrat" is a Turkish minelayer that strongly influenced the course of the 1915 Battle of Gallipoli. The British pre-dreadnought battleships HMS "Irresistible" and HMS "Ocean" and the French battleship "Bouvet" were all sunk, and the British battle cruiser HMS "Inflexible" was also badly damaged, by mines laid by "Nusret".

"Nusret" is preserved as a museum ship at Mersin. A replica, also named Nusret, is displayed in Çanakkale by the shore of the Narrows of the Dardanelles along with the types of mines that it laid in WWI.
