Was born in Ambary manor in Vilna uezd of
Vilna Governorate . As known, this manor in the end life was got byVasily Tyapinsky . The participant ofJanuary Uprising of 1863-1864. AfterJanuary Uprising left Belarus. Lived inUkraine . Studied in Nezhinsk legal liceum. Worked as the lawyer - the defender of the rights of peasantry. After amnesty for all participants of the revolt, dated for an ascension on Alexander's III throne, has moved with family inVilna . Worked in lawyer office, wrote clauses to magazine "Kraj" in Polish. After dismissal of veins in Kushlyany (nowadays Smarhon raion) where died. He is buried in village Zhuprany ofAshmyany raion.Works

Initiator of critical realism in Belarusian literature. His works are closely connected with Belarusian folklore. Has published two collections of poems "Dudka biełaruskaja" ( _en. Belarusian pipe) and "Smyk biełaruski" ( _en. Belarusian fiddlestick) in
Austria-Hungary . The northwest dialect of Belarusian language is put in a basis of language of his works.
