J. Edward "Ted" Richard (born: ) is a former territorial level politician, lawyer and Senior judge of the Northwest Territories Supreme Court. The Northwest Territories is a vast area in the northwestern section of Canada, just north of the Yukon.
Richard is a former lawyer, he was a partner in the law firm of Richard, Vertes, Peterson & Schuler in Yellowknife,
Northwest Territories . He practiced private law until 1988.Richard was first elected to the Northwest Territories Legislature in the 1983 Northwest Territories general election. He won the
Yellowknife South electoral district defeating incumbentLynda Sorenson . Richard was re-elected to his second term in the 1987 Northwest Territories general election.
