Karel Pavlík (
19 October 1900 Hradové Střímelice -26 January 1943 Mauthausen ) was a Czechoslovak captain, later colonel posthumously and decorated hero ofCzechoslovakia .Captain Pavlík was a leader of the company that resisted the German occupants. On 14th March 1939 when German troops started occupation of Czechoslovakia Pavlík was a captain of twelve company of 8th infantry division housed in Czajanek's barracks in Místek.
After the heroic battle captain Pavlík was forced to surrender. Nearly after the occupation Pavlík joined the resistance. He begun his illegal activities against Germans with the group "Za Vlast" ("For the country") that helped Czechoslovaks pilots to run across the borders. Then he moved to Prague where he joined resistance group "Obrana národa" ("Nation defense") and cooperated with
Václav Morávek . After the betrayal of Ladislav Vaněk in the group "Jindra" Pavlík was captured byGestapo and later sent toMauthausen and after the torturing questioning he was shot. His body was never found and his symbolic grave is inKostelec nad Černými lesy .External links
