The station begins during the 70's as an adult contemporary spanish station under the name of "Sono Imagen", name that keeps for two decades. In 1996 the station is named "FM Globo" and becomes part of the FM Globo network as a result of a partnership between Radio Universal and MVS Radio, in October 1, 2001 the station changes its format as a Top 40 station and becomes "Exa FM"
