radio station serving south central Minnesota. The station airs anadult hits format. They are licensed toNorth Mankato, Minnesota and serve the Mankato area and the Minnesota River Valley. From April 2006 to July 2008, KDOG's format was simulcast on sister stationKNSG inSpringfield, Minnesota , [ [http://www.northpine.com/broadcast/archive/news0406.html Broadcasting News-April 2006 ] ] which covers cities such as Redwood Falls and Marshall. The two stations mostly aired separate programming.The station went on the air in
1984 with aHot Adult Contemporary format as "96.7 K-DOG." Over the years, the station has tweaked its on-air presentation slightly, going so far as to rebrand itself as "96.7 The Spot" in May 1999 [ [http://www.northpine.com/broadcast/archive/news0599.htm Broadcasting News-May 1999 ] ] , with amodern AC orientation and the syndicatedBob and Sheri morning show. The station dropped the "Spot" moniker and transitioned to a broaderhot adult contemporary format in August 2002.
