Groudle Lane railway station

Groudle Lane railway station

Groudle Lane is a halt just south of Groudle Station on the Manx Electric Railway that serves the holiday village nestling in the valley below; more recently some of these chalets have been converted into dwellings. For the majority of its existence the station consisted of nothing but a request stop nameboard, but in keeping with management policy at the time is received a modern bus shelter in 1999 spoiling this once sleepy rural halt by the addition of a somewhat urban looking structure. This stop also proves an ideal point to join the Groudle Glen Railway which is a five minute walk from the station on the other side of the valley.
