Tecktonik

Tecktonik (also known as "tck","electro dance""vertigo", "Milky Way") is a form of dance based on a blend of hip hop and techno styles (late 80s Vogue (dance), 90s Waving (dance) and old school Breakdancing). The music Tecktonik is usually danced to is Electro house. Tecktonic has not yet succeed in creating its own musicgenre, even though multiple attempts have been made.. Tecktonik originated in Paris, France and has grown in popularity through word-of-mouth and video sharing sites such as Dailymotion and YouTube.

The term "Tecktonik" is also a registered trademark. Dancers also tend to have "futuristic", sometimes even gothic hair cuts and sometimes wear make-up designs such as a star around one eye. The neon colours on shirts are linked to the London Nu Rave fashion scene.

Tecktonik appeared in France in 2000 in the outskirts of Paris in a nightclub called Metropolis. Tecktonik was featured prominently at the 2007 Paris Techno Parade on September 15. The song Alive by Mondotek has been named the official anthem for Tecktonik in France.

Around the world

Since its creation in France, Tecktonik has spiked much population around the world. Its "catchy beats, and funky moves" have been known to be trendy throughout people all over the world.

Chile

Chile is probably the country with more influence of Tecktonik in America and Latinamerica, especially in Santiago (one of the cities with more urban tribes around the world) where you can see plenty of young people (between 14-19 years old) dancing Tck. Despite this, you can find "Tecktonikos" throughout the country. The Tecktonik parties are becoming increasingly popular in Chile, made in various clubs of Santiago and also Concepción. 2008 is the year who Tck has gained more adherents in Chile."Tecktonikos" are trying to gain a good position among the various Chileans movements, wanting to move Pokemones, Pelolais, Flaites and many other major movements and principal Chileans urban tribes.

North America

In the early months of 2007, Tecktonik progressed to Canada. The first glimpses of Tecktonik in Canada was in [Toronto Ontario Some students from Cederbrae ci went to see thier dance in the multicultral show. Adapting to it and teaching the rest of their peers the dance. Since then, the dance has been moving from person to person. It is being known as "The Tecktonik Phase." Tecktonik is also growing in Montreal, Quebec, with many teams forming and performances around the island taking place. The teams found are Electro Family, Tecktonik Tdot , Bang Bang and Arcane(NZL).

France electro DJ Ben Milano and DJ Said & DJ Nass-r came to Montreal to record their music video entitled "Imajeen", soon to be released.

Estonia

In Estonia Tecktonik arrived in May 2008. There's only two teams for now : |META|tonik Tecktonik Tallinn and La Tecktonik, which belongs to Tecktonik Tallinn. Latvia

Tecktonik arrived in Latvia in January 2008. There's a couple of teams, famous is Tecktonik Dance Team Liepaja (TDTL). Tecktonik is growing up in Liepaja (club Big7) and Riga (Latvia's capital) in club Essential and other clubs. North Africa and the Middle East

The dancing craze was brought in the northern countries of Africa like Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia where it is published in magazines articles, played whilst dancing on television broadcasts, in talent shows, used in television commercials and merchandised in shops around the 3 countries. It has also taken a toll on the fashion and culture in these countries too, with youths wearing hooded jumpers and skinny jeans.

The dance was brought to Israel by french tourists in the summer of 2007, and soon it became extremely popular among teenagers in Israel. A number of Tecktonik dance groups were formed (most notably TeckIsrael). The dance also has a high number of fans and dancers in Lebanon

outh Korea

K-pop singers and dancers like Goo Joon Yup (former member of Clon), Hwang Bo and Chunja have been marking the existence of Tecktonik in Korea. Goo Joon Yup - who runs some clubs in Seoul - is well known for being one of the best Tecktonik DJ's in South-Korea. He plays music mixed with songs that he wrote by himself and performs his own style of Tecktonik dance which dedicates a lot in the development of this genre in the North-East Asian territory. Hwang Bo who recently released her latest album represents her title song "Get Hot" and Chunja her hit song "Booming." In South-Korea, Tecktonik is not only popular in the singer's zone. Actors like Jang Geun Suk and Go Ah Ra, the models in Etude Cosmetics line, have made Tecktonik even more popular by performing their dance - also recently very popular on the internet - at the latest Etude Cosmetic commericials.

Love Parade 2008

Tecktonik had a presence on the 2008 Love Parade in Dortmund. It is likely that this indicates the acceptance of this trend in Germany in coming months.

Most Tecktonik Music Videos broadcast through M6 Music Pop channel, MCM Belgium and NRJ Club. TMF Dance (former known as TMF Party) broadcasts some videos, and so does MTV Poland.
