Sherrick

Sherrick (born 1957 in Sacramento, California - died 1999), stage name of Lamotte Smith, an American soul musician.

He was a soul singer who had two UK hits in 1987. These were "Just Call" and "Let's Be Lovers Tonight" on Warner Bros. Records. He was a leading soul singer along with Luther Vandross and Alexander O'Neal in the late eighties.

After starting successfully, he became addicted to Cocaine and his career waned. He died in Los Angeles in January 1999 aged 42.
