Cambridge Network

The Cambridge Network is a networking organization for business people and academics working in technology fields in the Cambridge area (sometimes called Silicon Fen).

The network was founded by Nigel Brown, David Cleevely, Fred Hallsworth,Hermann Hauser, Anthony Ross and Alec Broers in 1998. Its current president is Alison Richard and the chief executive is Peter Hewkin.

Its Mission is "To link like-minded people from business and academia to each other and to global partners for the benefit of the Cambridge region". It believes that 'Cambridge Ideas Change the World' and encourages its members to 'Share for Success' with the objective of 'Raising Cambridge's Game'.

With over 1000 corporate and 300 individual members it supports Europe's largest and most vibrant venture-funded technology cluster (often referred to as the Cambridge Phenomenon).

The Cambridge Network has created novel support processes including: The Cambridge Corporate Gateway; The Cambridge Summer (and Winter) Forum; The Learning Collaboration. It also manages www.shanghainetwork.cn (in Shanghai) and www.cambridgenetwork.us (in Boston).
