Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan

Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan

Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan are a country music duo from Florida. Blanchard and Morgan were both born in the same Buffalo, New York hospital and lived in Ohio as children, but they did not meet until the 1960s, when both were working as musicians in Florida clubs. Morgan was a singer and keyboard player, and Blanchard a songwriter/pianist, and later a newspaper columnist. They married in 1967 and began playing together; they scored their first hit two years later with "Big Black Bird". Their greatest success came in 1970, when the tune "Tennessee Bird Walk" went to #1 on the country charts, hit the Top 40, and was nominated for a Grammy award. They recorded for several major labels in the 1970s and had their last hit in 1976, but continue to record and perform into the 2000s.
