- Danny Eason
Danny Eason is a choir director currently leading the Montreal Chapter of Abundant Life choir. He was born and raised in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, and was first directed by his godfather, Jerry Williams. He began directing the junior choir of the Brownsville Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Harold Burton Sr., and led the choir to the 1991
McDonalds' Gospel Fest competition atCarnegie Hall , which they won.In July 1992, Eason organized the then-seven member Brooklyn Youth Community Choir. In 1993 it was renamed to the Abundant Life Youth Crusade, in order to open membership for the ministry throughout New York City. The choir grew to 120 members, and ministered at the Rikers Island prison, various hospitals, nursing homes and churches throughout the Tri-State area. The choir has also performed in
Japan andCanada . Eason himself traveled throughout the US andEurope for performances, workshops and to teach music.In 1998, Eason and the Abundant Life Crusade recorded their first live album, titled "The Beginning," under the
Vectron/Temple Music Group record label; the project was released in February 1999. Although the choir has released no new material since, Eason reunited past members of the Brooklyn Youth Community Choir and Abundant Life in May 2004.In December 2005, Eason began a new choir, the Montreal Chapter of Abundant Life, and in less than two years performed in various parts of Canada and the US. In 2006, Eason and a business partner launched their own gospel record label,
D&D Music Group Inc . Eason recorded the Abundant Life Montreal to a pack audience in August 2007, and continues to lead the choir.
