Bradley Christian Olesen: b. January 22, 1970 (Dallas, Texas)
Choral Conductor. After earning his undergraduate degree in piano, he received his Master of Music Performance in Choral Conducting from Texas Tech University where he was both the business manager of the Lubbock Chorale and assistant director with the Lubbock High School choirs. His research into the posthumously published work of Benjamin Britten's A.M.D.G has been published and cited in various dissertations. His career includes teaching high school choirs, serving as fine arts director at Cincinnati Country Day School and singing professionally around the United States, Germany and Austria. Having sung under the baton of Dr. Ken Davis, Dr. Craig Hella Johnson, Dr. Earl Rivers, Kenny Sheppard, Dr. Timmothy Seelig and Dr. Jo-Michael Scheibe, he has also studied under Paul Salamunovich, Dr. Don Neuenn, Rod Eichenberger, Dr. Jonathan Palant and Dr. Alfred Mann. He studied voice with Aija Schrader and Karl Dent. Brad is currently beginning his doctoral studies at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music in Music Education. Brad has under his belt numerous musicals and operas - including work with Sam Mendes' Cabaret and the North American premier of Mama Mia in Toronto. Other musicals/operas under his direction include Little Shop of Horrors, Bye Bye Birdie, The Pajama Game, Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific and Joseph (a.t.a.t.d-c) as well as Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Copland's The Tenderland, and Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. As a soloist, he has recorded under the Opus One label, Reference Recording label and can be heard on numerous recordings with the Turtle Creek Chorale...including his favorite (and life mantra): There Is No Map (for where we go....) Brad can also be heard performing with the Frost Chorale under the direction of Helmuth Rilling in Haydn's Die Schöpfung in November.
Brad is the son of Spencer and Jeanette Olesen, of Grand Prairie, Texas. He has 1 sister - Anne E. Turner (m. Scott Turner, MD), (Jack, Sydney, Hayden, and Kate).
