Pat Bolland (born
March 17 ,1958 ) is a business television commentator currently hosting onCanada 's financial news network,Business News Network .
Bolland joined BNN in February 2004, first in their morning programming and then hosting the popular afternoon show "Trading Day with Pat Bolland", later moving back to mornings to host "Market Morning".
Before joining BNN, he was an on-air editor at
CNBC , launching the after-hours coverage in 1999 and moving to morning programs later. Before that he served several roles at CBC including host of "CBC Morning" and business editor ofCBC Newsworld . He also created and hosted "Investors On-Line", a nationally syndicated TV show; hosted "Canada's Business Report", a daily radio show; and wrote an investment column for America Online.Before becoming a broadcaster, Bolland spent a decade in the Canadian investment industry, starting as a phone clerk on the TSX at "McLeod,Young,Weir" rising to Vice President,Institutional Trading at "ScotiaMcLeod". Bolland is a Fellow of the
Canadian Securities Institute .Personal life
Bolland was born in
Flint ,Michigan , but was raised inMississauga ,Ontario ,Canada as the oldest of 12 children. He graduated fromQueen's University atKingston, Ontario with a dual degree (BA (mathematics)/BPHE). He and his wife, Christine, reside in Mississauga and have five children. Bolland is active in the community, coaching icehockey and girlslacrosse (Lorne Park Secondary School – varsity) while serving as President of theMississauga trilliums Lacrosse Association.External links
