Arthritis The purpose of the Missouri Arthritis Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (MARRTC) is to provide leadership at the national level in support of three key objectives: (a) to reduce pain and disability, (b) to improve physical fitness and quality of life, and (c) to promote independent living and community integration for persons with arthritis of all ages in the United States.Biomolecular Imaging Center (BIC)The VA Biomolecular Imaging Center (BIC) located at the Harry S Truman Memorial VA Hospital offers VA, and affiliated MU researchers, state of the art molecular and anatomic in vivo imaging capabilities.
Pulmonary The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Environmental Medicine has a comprehensive research program, including elements of both translational and clinical research. The program was initiated almost 3 years ago with the appointment of Dr. Rajiv Dhand, MD, as the Director of the Division. The Division members have unique expertise in the delivery and testing of aerosolized medications. Several novel devices for delivering drugs to the lungs are being tested and unique applications of this technology to common respiratory disorders are being explored. We have ongoing partnership with the Particulate Research Center and the Veterinary School at MU for various projects.References
