- HMS Cordelia (1914)
HMS "Cordelia" was a C-class
light cruiser of theRoyal Navy . She was part of the "Caroline" group of the C-class of cruisers.She was laid down in July 1913, launched
23 February 1914 and commissioned into the navy in January 1915. She was assigned to the 1st Light Cruiser Squadron of theGrand Fleet , and on31 May to1 June 1916 "Cordelia" took part in theBattle of Jutland with a number of her sisters. In 1917 she was reassigned to the 4th Light Cruiser Squadron of the Grand Fleet. She survived the war, but was considered obsolete before the outbreak of theSecond World War and was sold on31 July 1923 to Cashmore, of Newport to be broken up.References
