Jeremy Kossen

Jeremy Kossen (born August 2, 1972 in San Francisco, CA) is a Los Angeles-based Jewish American entrepreneur who founded JewTube, a free video sharing community which features Jewish-oriented videos. Mr. Kossen founded JewTube in response to what he viewed as a "worrisome amount of antisemitic and anti-Israel content on websites like YouTube". ["GodTube offers wildly popular alternative to YouTube." (http://www.usatoday.com/news/religion/2007-12-04-god-tube_N.htm#uslPageReturn), USA Today, 7 December 2007.]

Consistent with the resistance of Jews to proselytize, Mr. Kossen affirms that the mission of JewTube is not to convert people, but to "promote Jewish culture". Mr. Kossen adds, "JewTube is about community. It's about connecting the Jewish Diaspora. ['Jew-It-Yourself': Philosophy Behind New Sites" (http://www.jewishexponent.com/article/13793/), Jewish Exponent, August 16, 2007.]

Jeremy is also a writer covering technology issues, and has penned articles for various technology periodicals such as Palm Power Enterprise, Computing Unplugged, IT Contractor and Certification Magazine. He coined the term m-learning to describe learning that occurs across across locations or that exploits learning opportunities on portable technologies such as PDAs and mobile phones. ["When e-Learning becomes m-Learning" (http://www.zatz.com/authors/authorpages/jeremyskossen.html), Computing Unplugged, June 2001.]
