George Kollias

George Kollias, PhD, [http://www.fleming.gr/en/Kollias_CV.html] is President and Scientific Director of Alexander Fleming BSRC [http://www.fleming.gr/en/Kollias_CV.html] and the coordinator of MUGEN NoE [http://www.mugen-noe.org] . He obtained his BSc and his PhD from the University of Athens (Greece). He was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute for Medical Research in London UK (1985-1987). He was the Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute in Athens, Greece (1989-2000) and the Director of Institute for Immunology at FLM (2000-2002). Dr Kollias is an EMBO member. He has a long record in the generation and characterization of animal models of human diseases. His laboratory [http://www.fleming.gr/en/investigators/Kollias/index.html] is highly proficient in the generation and histopathological characterization of transgenic mice as well as conventional and tissue specific gene-knockout mice. Dr. George Kollias is a distinguished scientist with an H-index over 40.
