- André Corbin
Guitarist André Corbin joined
Helstar in 1987, moved to Los Angeles, signed with Metal Blade records, and recorded the "A Distant Thunder" album, followed a year or so later by the dual guitar masterpiece "Nosferatu". After a disappointing tour for Nosferatu, André left the band along with drummer Frank Ferreira and spent the next few years making demos, and suffering with undependable vocalists. In 1994, André was recognized for his instrumentals in "Guitar for the practicing musician" magazine. By 1996, frustrated with the years of sacrifice and poverty, André walked away from the music scene, though he still plays guitar.
André has found his success in life through raising his children. His current creative outlet is his Florida based skateboard deck company "Ghetto Skateboards", and the opening of his skatepark "the Ghetto Skate Facility". He may return to music in the future, but does not currently have time.
