Guilherme de Cássio Alves, usually known as Guilherme (born August 5, 1974 in São Paulo), is a Brazilian football player. He played for São Paulo, Rayo Vallecano, Vasco da Gama, Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro.

In 1993, Guilherme won Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup with São Paulo. With Vasco da Gama in 1999 he won Torneio Rio-São Paulo.

=Career= Guilherme, centroavante ruthless, became famous in Atletico Mineiro between 1999 and 2003 and finished his career only to 33 years (he had heart problems). In 1999, hit a record of 22 years of the attacker Reinaldo Lima's Atletico Mineiro who also had 28 in Brazilian Championship, Guilherme was 29. But it is worth highlighting Reinaldo still has the best average, as did 28 goals in only 19 goals!

Began professional career in the MAC (Linda Athletic Club) in 1992. The fact that striker attracted the attention of Tele Santana and leaders of Sao Paulo that the hired.

It hit with Sao Paulo in 1993 and was champion of the Libertadores and World Cup crowns this year (all seen the bank's reserves). The following year, and could play, led the Sao Paulo with a hellish kids to two more victories to official South American Conmebol Cup and the Recopa Sudamericana.

He left the Sao Paulo in 1995, negotiated with Rayo Vallecano, Spain. Was to make a half-foot, play as a team with no expression in Europe did not like, then returned in 1997 to Grêmio. In 1998 he moved to Vasco. The Vasco had a Timac with many attackers in the Libertadores, Guilherme was bank, but in 1999, was the gunner and champion team in the Rio-Sao Paulo tournament.

Also in 1999, William was transferred to Atletico Mineiro. And it was there, the team of Change, the centroavante lived his finest moment in his career. In England that year, William was striker, hit the record that belonged to the greatest idol atleticano, Reinaldo, and led the team to the championship final. The Atletico Mineiro was vice-champion. The title was left with the job.

The same job that William defend in 2002. Loaned by Gall, the attacker arrived at the club's Park St. George of England to the dispute. Once in his debut in match against Internacional, in Pacaembu, William proved that remained of gol with flair. He scored two against the Colorado victory in corintiana by 3 to 2.

However, the passage from Corinthians by William was marked not only by goals. In October, the player was involved in serious car accident that resulted in the deaths of two people. The tragedy occurred near the town of Marilia. Psychologically shaken, William has not even play football in Barcelona, which ended up being vice-champion Brazil that year. The Saints, of Robinho, Diego, Leo, Fabio Costa and company, got the cup.

William was returned by the Corinthians and Atletico shortly afterwards left the country to defend the Al Itthihad of Arabia. In 2004, he was hired by the biggest rival of the Rooster, the cruise. In the same year, William was the champion team celestial mining, but failed in the Libertadores and was already in decline. The pressure of cruzeirenses and atleticanos also appears to have dampened the performance of William, named William Atleticanos of mercenary and he came to be threatened by a drug dealer for having provoked the crowd Alvi-Black, cited the huge Birra cruzeirenses always nourished by former tormentors of the nation Celeste, after all, William was responsible for a large disposal in Brazilian Championship (99) and the end of 2000 defending the state Athletic. The move by Fox was short of Babe and the year after the attacker was defending (in a discreet and) the Botafogo-RJ, his last club.
