The PleaseTakeMeTo AUSTRALIA website was produced by its parent company Tourism Media Pty Ltd using proprietry systems and processes. The website is also supported with an interactive DVD-ROM which also contains the same content as the website. The DVD-ROM is a stand alone piece of software and is unique in that it stays up to date via an updating mechanism which connects to the web in order to bring back update data from when the user was last online.

PleaseTakeMeTo AUSTRALIA is responsible for sales to directory clients, major sponsors and large tourism operators.

History

Please Take Me To AUSTRALIA came about from an idea of the two founders Nicholas Joy and Matthew Cassidy. They noted a lack of high quality media in the online travel space and decided to produce a product that allowed users to explore Australia and look at video's and images of locations throughout the country. They formed Tourism Media in 2002, and began researrching what would be involved. In 2005 the two founders brought in another six associates with complementary skills as shareholders. In 2005 PleaseTakeMeTo AUSTRALIA was formed as a wholly owned company of the parent company Tourism Media, for the express purpose of taking up the role of sales and marketing for the Australian product. The compnay worked with Tourism Australia, Tourism Queensland, Tourism NSW, Tourism Victoria, South Australian Tourism Commission, Tourism Tasmania and Tourism Northern Territory who assisted with the provision of some content.
