Sappara

Sappara

The sappara was an ancient Assyrian weapon very similar to the Egyptian khopesh. It resembled a large bronze sickle, and is generally referred to as a sickle-sword. The edge, however is on the convex side. It developed from an axe and as such may better be called an "axe-sword"
