Adults commonly reach 75-95 cm in length with a maximum of 120.2 cm. Extremely stout, though not quite so much as "A. n. mexicanus".
Geographic range
Found in the mountains of
Costa Rica and westernPanama at 50-1500 m altitude. This includes theCordillera de Tilarán , the Cordillera Central and theCordillera de Talamanca . The type locality given is "La Palma,[ San José Province ] , Costa Rica, 4500 feet."ee also
