It is a youngters' tradition in Himalayan country
Nepal to go out in groups to neighboring houses and sing a song for home owners during the Hindu festival of Tihar. Deusi generally refers to the act of singing in a group.Usually one person leads the song and others in the group follows by saying 'deusire' until the end of the song.
For example,
Deusi leader sings - "Aahai, bhana mera bhai ho" [translate: yo brothers, say what?] Group - deusire!
Leader - "Ramrari bhana" [say laud and clear] Group - deusire!
Leader - sings nice thing about home owners (hosts)Group - deusire!
Leader - blessingsGroup - deusire!
To the end of the song, the host brings food and money for the group. The group thanks the host and move on to the next house.
