Jon Cooksey is a writer/producer living and working in Vancouver. He works both solo and jointly with his wife, Ali Marie Matheson; Jon & Ali together were the creators of “
The Collector (TV series) ”, on which they served as executive producers, showrunners and head writers, and they’re currently writing two drama series pilots for theCanadian Broadcasting Corporation . On the solo front, Jon is currently in development on “Moon Knight ”, a drama series for CTV based on the Marvel comic of the same name, and he’s also working on environmentally-themed projects in a variety of other media, reflecting his deep desire to have a habitable planet to retire on. First among them is the theatrical docu-comedyHow to Boil a Frog , on which he’s acting as writer, director, producer and court jester.Jon has worked in all genres of film and television, including comedy, drama and family. So Weird ”, a half-hour drama in the vein of “The X Files”, for TheDisney Channel , and have also written pilots forComedy Central andFX (TV Network) . He and Ali have also done extensive work in animation, from online/new media projects to series (“Rugrats ”) to features. A native of Los Angeles, Jon had a long career in Hollywood before moving to Vancouver; he became a dual citizen in July, 2003.
