Renaissance Stakes

Renaissance Stakes

The Renaissance Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the Republic of Ireland open to thoroughbreds which are three-years-old or above. It is run over a distance of 6 furlongs (1,207 metres) at the Curragh, and it takes place annually in September.

Until 2002 the race was run as the MacDonagh Boland Stakes. In 2003 its title was changed to the Ridgewood Pearl Stakes, in honour of Ridgewood Pearl, the Irish trained winner of the 1995 Breeders' Cup Mile. The present name was adopted in 2004, when a different race was given the title Ridgewood Pearl Stakes.

The race was promoted to Group 3 status in 1998, having been previously classed at Listed level. Between 1988 and 2001 it was run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres).

Winners since 1987
