Ricardo Caballero Tostado is a contestant on the second season of Latin American Idol. Ricardo was born in the city of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco located on the eastern side of Mexico. He began singing at the age of 17; singing at bars and hotel lobbies. At the age of 18 he began performing shows with a great maestro – Raul Caballero – his father. He continued performing in order to help pay for his studies at the University Iberoamericano where he graduated with a BS in Marketing. He is the only son of Raul Caballero and Georgina Tostado Orozco de Caballero; although he does have a paternal half brother. Both of his parents have supported and encouraged his love of music. His father is a performer and his mother a physical trainer.

He has performed continuously for 2 years at the bar of that famous Restaurant “El Santo Coyote” called “El Santo Cachorro” en Guadalajara. Ricardo has had the opportunity of being the opening performer for concerts for international groups that include: La Quinta Estacion, Ha-Ash, to name a few. Ricardo has his own show called “Ricardo Caballero”; he is the singer and is accompanied by a band of five additional people. They have toured Mexico.

Ricardo still has the same friends that he has had since childhood, but his circle of friends also now includes his band members. He currently does not have a girlfriend.
