Thiruvambadi

Thiruvambadi is a small hilly town in Kozhikode district. There is a Panchayath and Assembly constituency named after Thiruvambadi. Thiruvambadi is located on the banks of Iruvanjippuzha which is a tributary of Chaliyar situated 33 km far from Kozhikode city.

This is a beautiful place filled with mountains and waterfalls. Famous waterfalls like Thusharagiri and Arippara are near to this place. Majority of people are X'ans and Muslims.Most people are engaged in agriculture and business activities.

Economy

The main cash crops are: rubber, paddy, coconut, areca nut, ginger, turmeric, 'kacholam' and pepper.

The other places nearest to Thiruvambady are Mukkom 5 km, Omassery 5 km, Pulloorampara 9 km, Koodaranhi 5 km.
