Yokosuka Domain

Yokosuka Domain

The nihongo|Yokosuka Domain|横須賀藩|Yokosuka han was a domain of Japan during the Edo period. Located in Enshū, it had an evaluation ranging from 25,000 to 60,000 "koku." The domain had its headquarters at Yokosuka Castle in Kakegawa, Shizuoka. Its rulers included members of the Ōsuga, Matsudaira, Inoue, Honda, and Nishio families. In 1868, the Yokosuka territory was made part of the newly created Sunpu Domain (which was the new home of the former shogun's family). Consequently, the Nishio moved to the Hanabusa Domain, and the Yokosuka Domain was abolished.
