Giovanni Maria Verdizzotti (
1525 -1600 ) was an Italian painter of theRenaissance , active inVenice . He was a pupil and friend ofTitian . He excelled in painting small landscapes with figures of mythology or history. He also published a translation of Ovid's "Metamorphoses" and the "Aeneid".References
