Giovanni Maria Verdizzotti

Giovanni Maria Verdizzotti (1525-1600) was an Italian painter of the Renaissance, active in Venice. He was a pupil and friend of Titian. He excelled in painting small landscapes with figures of mythology or history. He also published a translation of Ovid's "Metamorphoses" and the "Aeneid".
