contemporary hits format. Limited by the daytime-only restrictions, the station went through several formats and owners includingOldies , Urban Fusion, and Rock/Classic rock .In the late 1980s the station changed to a
rock music format which it later shared with then co-ownedWTAK-FM . After a transition period to establish the FM home of the format, the AM station was sold off.The station changed call letters again in 1994 to WDJL, the current call sign.cite web |work=FCC Media Bureau CDBS Public Access Database |url=http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/pubacc/prod/call_hist.pl?Facility_id=23088&Callsign=WDJL |title=Call Sign History] The station ran 10,000 watts of power until 2006.
