Ričardas Berankis (born June 21, 1990 in Vilnius, Lithuania) is a Lithuanian professional tennis player, currently ranked number 444 in the world.

Biography

Berankis was born June 21, 1990 in Vilnius, Lithuania. He was born to father Genadijus and mother Jelena, and has a sister Lina.Her sister was also a tennis player and now she is coaching. Her beauty is well-known.Berankis started playing tennis at the age of two.

He resides in Bradenton, Florida, USA and is coached by Remigijus Balzekas. Away from tennis, Berankis also enjoys fishing, billiard, and music.

Career

2008

Berankis started the 2008 season by winning the Men's Doubles event with Siarhei Betau at the USA F6 Futures tournament. In the Men's Singles, Berankis fell out in the 2nd Round against Ryler De Heart of the USA.

On June 9th, Berankis qualified to his first Professional ATP tournament, the 2008 Orange Warsaw Open. Berankis lost in the 1st round to world number 96 Wayne Odesnik 4-6, 3-6.

As a wild card, Berankis competed in an ATP Professional tournament, the 2008 Croatia Open Umag. He lost in the first round to world number 72 Fabio Fognini 3-6, 2-6.
