Sebastiaan Verschuren (born October 7, 1988 in Nieuwegein, Utrecht) is a long-distance freestyle swimmer from the Netherlands. He is the current holder of the Dutch national records in the 800m and 1500m freestyle events (long course).

wimming Career

After competing in the European Junior Swimming Championships in 2005 and 2006 Verschuren made his international senior debut at the European LC Championships 2006 in Budapest, Hungary with an 19th position in the 1500 m freestyle. Two years later he started in Eindhoven in his homecountry at the European LC Championships 2008. Where he started in the 200 m freestyle reaching a 13th position and in the 4x200 m freestyle ending up 9th in the heats just missing out for the final and the 2008 Summer Olympics.
