Adeline Hazan (born
21 January 1956 inParis ) is a French politician,Member of the European Parliament for the east ofFrance , and mayor ofReims since March 2008.She is a member of the Socialist Party, which is part of the
Party of European Socialists , and sits on theEuropean Parliament 's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs.She is also a substitute for the Committee on Legal Affairs, a member of the delegation for relations with the
Mashreq countries, a member of the delegation to the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, and a substitute for the delegation for relations with theMaghreb countries and theArab Maghreb Union .She was elected mayor of
Reims in March 2008. She competed against former ministerCatherine Vautrin .Career
