Valensole UFO Incident

Valensole UFO Incident

The Valensole UFO Incident took place on July 1, 1965, in a lavender field next to Valensole, located in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, France. The witness was Maurice Masse, an agriculturist who, according to researchers, would be unable to invent such a history.

On that morning, he was on his own property doing his usual jobs. At six o’clock, when he stopped to rest, he heard a sharp noise. A small search did not reveal anything, so he tried a more detailed search towards the place where the noise came from.

Behind a rock, he found something incredible: a spherical object, as big as a Renault Dauphine automobile. He took a few more steps and saw two unknown beings near the object. They were crouching and observing some plants.

Extremely curious, he approached closer. Suddenly, one of the beings spotted him. Both of them got up and the other one pointed a strange object towards Maurice. Immediately he was paralyzed and could not move any part of his body, although the senses kept on working.

The being put his weapon down and began to discuss with his companion. This allowed the witness to observe the beings better. They were just above one meter high, their skin was smooth, slightly white, and apparently not covered by hair or coat. Their head was big, with almost no neck, and the eyes were just like the human ones, despite the absence of eyelids. They were wearing dark blue clothing.

While the beings kept on discussing in an unknown language, Maurice says he felt somewhat tranquilized. The beings then got on the object, and through a transparent cupola, the man could see both of them seated at the controls. The object climbed a meter, flew towards some hills and then suddenly accelerated and disappeared.

Maurice continued to be paralyzed for some 15 minutes, then regained movement. He looked at the spot where the UFO landed. The land at the spot was very humid, and there was a small hole. Days later, the lavender began to inexplicably die within 5-6 meters from the spot where the UFO landed. The effects from the incident were still felt for eight years after the incident.

Local farmer Paul Belyea reported seeing a saucer-shaped flying vehicle zooming through the sky.
