Karel Krejčí (
April 1 ,1939 –August 28 ,2007 ), born inPrague ,Czechoslovakia , was a Czechfootball (soccer) player. Krejci was the youngest boy out of eight siblings.Early life
Karel was the seventh child of Josef and Hedva Krejčí. He had a close relationship with his mother who was a Czech-speaking German from the Sudentland. His eldest sister, Vilma was like "second-mother" to him and shared in child care duties. He was a perceptive child and often discussed the effects of communism on his childhood, religion, and professional career choices. Krejci was a diligent student and did especially well in mathematics and languages.
Dukla Prague
Karel played football in his early youth as an amateur player, until 13 years of age when was asked to try out for the Central Army Club; this team would eventually become known as
Dukla Praha . His natural ability was cultivated and he joined the team as #10 as the position of a shooter. He helped lead his team to two championship games.Karel eventually relocated to Canada where he remained the rest of his life. After the death of his second wife, Mary, he met Barbara Warner in the State of South Carolina; both had one child from previous marriages. The union produced only one child.
