Son of
Japan ese artist Tomie Ohtake, Ruy Ohtake is known for its dynamic and unusual architectural designs. Some fine examples of his projects are the half-moon-shaped Hotel Unique [ [http://www.hotelunique.com.br/splashpage/ Hotel Unique webpage] ] (considered by architecture pundit Paul Goldberger one of the seven wonders of the modern world), the Hotel Renaissance building, and commercial building Edifício Santa Catarina at Avenida Paulista - all three located in the city of São Paulo. Ohtake is also famous for the design of the Cultural Institute Thomie Ohtake and the commercial building next to it.He majored in Architecture in
1960 at theUniversity of São Paulo .Personal life
Ohtake got married twice: to Brazilian actress Célia Helena, who died in
