Queen Zara

Queen Zara is a fictional ruler in the children's fantasy novel series "The Secrets of Droon" by American author Tony Abbott.

Fictional history

Queen Zara was the mother of Lord Sparr, and wizards Galen Longbeard and Urik. She lived in the Upper World. Beautiful and powerful, Queen Zara was so accomplished in magic that it was said merely a tenth of her power would be sufficient to conquer the world, if her power were ever used for evil.

She was kidnapped by Emperor Ko while staying in the city of Pesh hoping to defeat Princess Salamandra. Ko forced the orkins to build the Dark Stairs which Eric and the others climbed down in Special Edition #1. The stairs are stuck in the past.

Queen Zara is deceased; she was slowly poisoned to death by Emperor Ko. After that Emperor Ko kept Queen Zara in his palace when Sparr was young but Sparr found Queen Zara in a secret chamber of Ko's. Then Ko found out that Sparr knows his mother was killed by him. Emperor Ko lied to Sparr but Sparr did not believe it. Sparr turned from Ko and helped his brother instead.
