Cameron S. Brown (born
July 6 ,1954 ) is a politician from theU.S. state ofMichigan .Brown was born in
Fawn River Township, Michigan . He attended theCollege of William and Mary and earned aBachelor's degree in history from theUniversity of Missouri–Kansas City . He earned aMaster of Public Administration degree fromWestern Michigan University . He is the sixth generation of his family to live in southern Michigan, where he and his wife reside in the farmhouse built by his great-grandparents.Before holding elected office, Brown was the vice-president of marketing for
Freeman Manufacturing Company , an orthopedic soft goods manufacturer based inSturgis, Michigan . He was with the company 18 years.Brown served five terms as St. Joseph County commissioner, and was elected board chairman three times. He also served on the Sturgis City Commission, 1981-1986. He was elected as a Republican to the
Michigan House of Representatives from the 59th district in 1998 and 2000. He was elected to theMichigan Senate from the 16th district in 2002 and 2006. He will not be able to run for re-election in 2010 due to term limits.References
