Giles of Bridport was a medieval Bishop of Salisbury.

Life

He was archdeacon of Berkshire in the diocese of Salisbury as well as Dean of Wells [http://british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=34219 British History Online Bishops of Salisbury] accessed on October 30, 2007] before he was elected bishop between February 13 and April 15 1256 and consecrated on March 11 1257. He died in December of 1262, probably on the 13th.Powicke "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 251] He founded De Vaux College in 1262 and he may have been the brother of Simon de Bridport, who was treasurer of the diocese of Salisbury.
