Following graduation, he taught French, English, and Religion at Nicholson Catholic College, in Belleville from 1989 to 1997 when he lost the job after refusing to remove the newly-printed "Catechism of the Catholic Church" from a course reading list after the school principal decided it did not use "inclusive" language.
