Alice Elinor Lambert (
January 8 ,1886 -February 19 ,1981 ) was awriter . In the 1930s, she self-published withVanguard Press at least three romance novels, "Hospital Nocture", "Women Are Like That", and "Lost Frangrance", all later re-published by Dell Romance. In 1904, she enjoyed a brief summer romance withTom Thomson , who would become known, following his mysterious drowning in 1917, as one of Canada's greatestlandscape painter s. Alice married Joseph Ransburg in 1912. They had two daughters, Victoria, 1914, and, Josephine, 1916. She separated from Ransburg in the 1920s, moved toSan Francisco and wrote an advice column for the "San Francisco Examiner " newspaper. According to the 1930 U.S. Census, she was again living with Ransburg. In 1931, she again separated, moving toNew York . She returned toSeattle the following year and divorced Ransburg.References
