- Felix Castello
Felix Castello (1602-1656) was a Spanish painter of the
Baroque period. He was born and died inMadrid . His father, Fabricio Castello, was a painter forKing Phillip II of Spain in theEscorial , the palace ofAlba de Tórraos , and the Palacio Pardo. Felix's grandfather was the painter Juan Bautista (known as the Bergamasco). He later trained withVicente Carducho andBartolomé Carducci . Castello painted for the chapel of Santo Cristo de la Paciencia in the Convent of theCapuchins . he also painted for the cloister of the Convent of Santa Barbara. He is also said to have contributed along withAlonso Cano and others to the portraits of kings for theRoyal Palace of Madrid .References
