Bogdan Sorin Stancu (nickname: „Motanul” / „Tomcat”), (born June 28, 1987 in Piteşti) is a Romanian football player, currently playing for Steaua Bucureşti. He has been compared to fellow countryman, Adrian Mutu. The 20 year-old is rated in the £2 million class by his Romanian club and along with Atletico Madrid, is also being tracked by Chelsea F.C., Fiorentina, Olympiacos and Celtic.

*On 10 May 2008 he signed with Steaua Bucureşti, with a reported transfer fee of around 1,000,000 euros. Stancu is in co-ownership.
*On June 30th, 2008 Stancu played his first match in Steaua's shirt in a friendly against NK Maribor, scoring the first goal.
