Simeon Oscar Williamson (born
16 January 1986 , Islington) is an English sprinter of Jamaican descent who specializes in the100 metres . He beat fellow Briton
Craig Pickering in a British 1-2. He also won the silver at the European Junior Championships in 2005, 1/100th of a second behind Pickering, to be part of a British 1-2-3 (Alex Nelson was the third athlete). He won the 100 m race at the 2007 Summer Universiade.In 2008 he finished seventh in
60 metres at the World Indoor Championships. 3rd August 2008 Williamson was featured in aBBC documentary called Sprint along with other 100m hopefulsCraig Pickering ,Harry Aikines-Aryeetey andWade Bennett-Jackson . Williamson representedTeam GB in the2008 Beijing Olympics in the 100m and the 4x100m relay. He was 2nd in the trials behind Dwain Chambers, running a new personal best of 10.03. After a minor injury at the team's training camp, however, he was less successful in the Olympics. He failed to match his trials form and went out at the quarter-final stage. Together withTyrone Edgar ,Marlon Devonish and Pickering he also competed at the4x100 metres relay . In their qualification heat they were disqualified and eliminated.Personal bests
