subdivision = About 44, see textEuptychiina is one of the largest
subtribe s of the butterflysubfamily Satyrinae (familyNymphalidae ). The only two comprehensive studies that include Euptychiina are the works of L. D. Miller and W. Forster [Forster (1964), Miller (1968)] , though the latter is in large parts considered obsolete nowadays.Although the classification of brush-footed butterflies (
Nymphalidae ) is currently under heavy revision, the Euptychiina is still little-studied bytaxonomist s. In fact, the group is so difficult that D'Abrera placed almost all included species in a "wastebin genus" "Euptychia " in his popular guide toNeotropical butterfies [D'Abrera (1988)] .Genera
