Nine Army Battle

The Nine-Army Battle (1795) is the name given to the defense of the Thai Kingdom by Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke against an invasion by King Bodawpaya of Burma. Today it is commemorated by a park, established by the Royal Thai Army, convert|40|km|mi|0 from the town of Kanchanaburi. The Nine Army Battle is famous within Thailand and remembered as one of the great victory for the country. There were 144,000 Burmese foot-soldiers and cavalry facing only 70,000 Thai soldiers.Fact|date=September 2007
